Free Diploma of Viticulture

The Kurri Kurri campus of TAFE NSW is pleased to advise that enrolment is now open for a new Diploma of Viticulture course to commence on 24 April in Term 2 of this year. And even better news, this course will be Fee Free for those who meet the basic Smart and Skilled requirements (Australian Citizen with a NSW address).

Course Details:

Part time - 2 years/8 study Terms

2 x 3hr online sessions per week (school holidays excluded) + approx. 4 hours/week personal study time

1 x 3 day training/assessment block each Term at the Kurri Kurri campus winery

10 x units of study

 The units of study in this course are:

  • AHCBAC509 – Plan and manage long-term weed, pest, and disease control in crops
  • AHCBIO305 – Apply biosecurity measures
  • AHCBUS511 – Manage enterprise staff requirements
  • AHCPHT508 – Develop a grape production plan
  • AHCSOL505 – Monitor and manage soils for production
  • AHCWAT503 – Manage water systems
  • AHCPHT509 – Evaluate wine
  • AHCWHS502 – Manage work health and safety processes
  • AHCPHT510 – Manage a wine making process
  • AHCPHT413 – Oversee vineyard practices
